Senior Cassondra Tompkins
What are you doing for Thanksgiving this year?
Well, my entire family is going to my grandmother’s house and we’re having the traditional Thanksgiving. We’re going to write thank-you cards to our friends and other family members. We really value Thanksgiving because we’re a Christian-based family, so we value that you always have to be thankful because you never know what could happen tomorrow. It’s like that saying, “YOLO.”
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
I like the turkey because the turkey is like the best. It’s the main course. It has all the different parts to it, like the seasoning and basically everything else.
What is your best Thanksgiving memory?
My best Thanksgiving memory is when we were at my grandmother’s house when I was probably seven. We sat down and shared what we were thankful for, gave each other thank-you cards and shared our experiences with Thanksgiving.
Explain your most unique Thanksgiving tradition.
What we usually do is we each cook one item for Thanksgiving. I usually cook the macaroni and cheese, my aunt cooks the turkey, my sister cooks the dressing and my grandma cooks the rest of the food. My grandpa usually serves the food to all of us. We all make the dessert later.
What are you most looking forward to about Thanksgiving?
I’m looking forward to spending time with my family and seeing some of my friends as well and wishing them all a happy Thanksgiving.
