What I’m Interested in: The 1975

Very rarely does a type of music or band come along that is able to completely shift my world view. About two years ago, my sister introduced me to the song ‘Chocolate’ by a band from The United Kingdom that not many people had heard of. The second I heard the rhythmic and hypnotic chords from the guitar I knew that I had found something amazing. Flash forward and I’m now listening to their music every day. ‘Loving Someone,’ a song about not letting yourself be changed by those who don’t understand you and loving who you want, is on repeat on my playlist. The song truly hit home to me as a person who has had difficulty accepting and being myself and who is constantly caught up in my thoughts. The 1975 completely derailed the way I viewed myself and the world around me; their music about living and loving the way that you want made me into the person that I want to be and helped me realize that every person who is alive is so uniquely different from each other.
