StuCo Hosts Annual Homecoming Pep Assembly

With the homecoming football game this Friday and the dance this Saturday, the school with be having its annual pep assembly on Sept. 30, in the large gym to help get students excited for the events bringing the entire school together to have fun. The assembly is set up and ran by StuCo, with the actual assembly and games being ran by the emcees Bryce Perry, Nic Savala and Max Dattilo.

The assembly this year will feature performances by JV Cheer, Varsity Cheer, JV Knightline, and Studline. This year, the band will be joining the groups featured at the assembly, performing the school’s fight song alongside the football team, cheer and Knightline as an effort to get even more people involved in the assembly.

“I’m very excited that we finally get to be a part of the pep assembly,” band member Rasha Shaker said. “We are becoming a bigger part of the school, and that makes me happy.”

Planning for the event was all done by StuCo, with the pep assembly committee contacting groups to perform, hiring a DJ, making the slideshow, holding emcee auditions, planning games and making the assembly come together.

“Planning for the assembly is a lot of work and it has been super stressful, so I am just excited to see everything work and see the student body happy,” StuCo member Aaliyeh Habibi said.

Students are encouraged to dress in their class colors and participate as much as possible in the assembly by volunteering for games or cheering to raise the spirit meter.

“I think it is fun to have the whole school in one place for a common reason, which is just to get excited about our football team, and showing pride in our school,” StuCo sponsor Shelly Parks said.
