Students Make Final Preparations for Homecoming
On Oct. 1, StuCo will be hosting the annual homecoming celebration. With a theme of “Cosmic Knight”, homecoming will bring some major changes this year. The theme from last year was “Around the World”, but StuCo plans to revamp their efforts and make this year even better.
Tickets will go on sale for $20 each, and are sold by the snack table during lunch. The event will be held in the big gym and will begin at 7 p.m. Students are able to bring someone from outside of FHN as long as they fill out a form from the guidance office in advance.
“I’m excited to go to the dance because it’s an essential part of the high school experience,” junior Emily Helmick said. “I’ve heard that there are a lot of new features to hoco such as a new dance floor, and I can’t wait to go.”
Before the dance starts, students have the chance to take pictures with friends. Another popular choice is to go out and get food beforehand.
“I’ve been part of StuCo for 2 years now,” junior Aaliyeh Habibi said. “I’m excited to see everything come together because at the moment, everything is separated into individual plans.”
As the time till the event comes to a close, StuCo is making their final moves to perfect the event. Some of this is helped by other events that lead into hoco, such as the pep assembly and the Powder Puff football game. Spirit days are another way students can get involved.
“I’m excited for this dance because of the theme,” StuCo sponsor, Jani Wilkens said. “There will be huge planets and a lot of cool space age stuff. If all goes as planned, there will be a planet that’s like 15 feet wide.”
