Boys Varsity Soccer’s high hopes for the upcoming season came to an end after losing in the first round of districts due to the many injuries suffered by their team in the past months. As the intensity of high school sports competitions has increased in recent years, many student athletes are struggling to maintain a healthy, yet still competitive lifestyle.
“When I was in high school, we all did 3 sports. Now what the typical pattern is when you’re 8, 9, 10 years old, you start doing club sports. Some of those folks who have specialized early have a higher risk of overuse injures,” said Dr. Brandon Larkin.
