Sophomore Ryan Murdock guards his opponent. Murdock is not only Howell North’s tallest player, but also a great shooter, with 14 points this game. Murdock commits a lot of time to basketball, as he plays year-round. He is hoping to play in college.
On Jan 5, the Knights varsity basketball played St. Charles. The game got off to a rough start, with the Knights trailing 20-7. However, in the third quarter, the Knights came roaring back, scoring 18 points and holding St. Charles to 6. The Knights grabbed a 3 point lead in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t hold on and ended up tying, sending the game to overtime. Unfortunately, one of Howell North’s key players, Kristian Brown got injured in the final quarter, and was unable to play for 8 minutes of the game, leaving the Knights without one of their key scorers. Brown had 16 points for the game. The Knights ended up losing 46-48 in overtime.
