Jordyn Kiel, Assistant Director of Student Media
Jordyn Kiel is in her 10th year of advising and teaching at FHN. She leads the 6th hour yearbook program, 7th hour photo program and intro journalism courses. She strives to inspire a love and passion for storytelling in her students and works hard to help build the fundamental skills these journalists need to achieve their goals. Kiel is a recognized Certified Journalism Educator and Master Journalism Educator by the Journalism Education Association, was named a JEA Rising Star in 2016, has served as a President of the Missouri Journalism Education Association and currently serves on the JEA Scholastic Journalism Week Committee. She got her start in journalism as a student at FHN in 2005 when she fell in love with storytelling and continued while pursuing degrees at Mizzou and Kent State. When she's not spending time with her in school "family," she's busy running around with her four young kids at home. She's an avid Disney lover, a reader and runner in her time outside of the FHN walls.
