Varsity boys prevail against Washington, welcome back Foust

On Monday, Feb. 9, the Knights Varsity boys team defeated Washington High, 43-37. Senior Josh Kane was the leading point scorer for the Knights with 12 points, followed by Wes Simone with seven points.

“The team kept composure in the fourth quarter and worked very well as a team when it came down to big possessions towards the end of the game,” Simone said.

The five starters – Wes Simone, Zach Simone, Andre Wooten, Josh Kane and Jake Schneider – all finished with points on the board. Wooten ended the game with seven points, and Zach and Schneider finished with six.

“Scott Foust stood out the most to me because it was his first game back and he hustled and got steels and made a lot of things happen out on the court,” Zach said.

Sophomore Clint Toedtman lead the Knights in free throws, making five of his six attempts. When he entered the game in the fourth quarter he got three foul shots called in his favor, which really benefited the Knights.

“It was really cool how he came in and stepped up like he did,” junior Sam Baker said.
