On Tuesday Jan. 31, FHN’s Knightline, Cheerleaders, and both girls and boys varsity Basketball held their senior night at FHN.

The Knights held their annual basketball senior night against the Timberland Wolves on Tuesday, Jan 30. The game was neck and neck until the very end where the Knights were able to pull away with a four point lead . This game has a lot of meaning to it as the three seniors Kendra Swope, Alicia Hunn, and Evelyn Kraus have been on varsity for all four years of their career.

“The game meant a lot to me,” Swope said. “We only get one senior night so I wanted to make the most of it, especially since we knew it was going to be a close game.”

With this win the Knights bring their record to 11-9. The Knights took a lead in the first quarter and didn’t lose the lead for the rest of the game. They were very consistent on offense all game and shot the ball very well. Swope was the leading scorer for the Knights with 14 points. This stat is important to Swope as she tied her single game record for points this season.

“Tying my season high I think shows how much I wanted it and how important this game was to me,” Swope said. “The team never gave up and I wanted to put my all in for senior night.”

Coach Danielle Rampley went through a wave of emotions throughout the game as it was a very bittersweet night. Rampley is proud of the seniors on the teams but it’s also very difficult for her to watch their time on the team come to an end.

“This senior night is probably going to be one of the hardest to see these girls enter as freshman and never playing, taking their time on the bench their freshman year and kinda growing into starters,” Rampley said. “This group means a lot to me.”
