With their last two wins over Zumwalt South and Washington, the Lady Knights will have more confidence going into Districts on Feb. 23. In order to prepare for Districts, the girls have been practicing everyday after school to increase their skill level but also to strengthen the bond that they have.
“[The team] takes it one game at a time,” senior Kendall Blanzy said. “There needs to be more communication and we need to buckle down.”
The three teams that the Lady Knights will be competing against are Parkway North, Parkway East, Parkway Central and Marquette. The way District games work is if the first game is lost, then the team is done. If the team is to win Districts, then they play two additional games, and if those games are won then the team is in the Final Four.
“Knowing how [the team] plays, I would like to make it to the championship game, ” Coach Dawn Hahn said. “I really want to give Parkway North a run for their money. May the best team win.”
