From Sept. 28-30, Varsity girls tennis had GACs at Troy High School. Out of 11 schools, FHN placed second. From FHN, three out of four singles and two out of three doubles teams made it to finals.
“I think that the team played up to their potential,” coach Kellie Hausner-Voyles said. “They showed a lot of persistence, and they played with a lot of heart.”
Top FHN players included junior Hope Mares for singles, and seniors Fareeha Amir and Lynn Roemer for doubles.
“I’m really happy,” Mares said. “I think I played the best that I’ve ever played. I’m really proud of the team. We did very good.”
