“Black Ops” should be “No Ops”

It seems every year there is a new “amazing” game that comes out that everyone must have. It’s true, lots of people like games, and that’s fine, but the game has to have amazing quality to be worth the money you end up paying for it, which brings me to the new Call of Duty: Black Ops.

I ended up renting this new game, along with my brothers, in high-hopes that it would be as awesome as it sounded. In the end, it definitely was not anything what I expected. Treyarch game studios once again tried to play with the history of the world, that has already happened, and change it into something different that never happened. I won’t spoil the end of the game, but it is disappointing because in all the climax of the game through gun-fights and crazy dream-like flashbacks you would think they would at least make the ending reasonably epic.

Another thing about the game is the technical aspects of the game are thrown off with the way the physics engine is too unreal, I’m sorry but not matter how much balance someone has on a car you can’t jump thirty feet. Also, incorporating guns into the game need to be realistic instead of made up because in the game you get to use a crossbow, which is cool but the reason they put it in the game is because of a myth that there was a trooper in the Vietnam war that carried a crossbow into combat for good luck, I have searched for information and I still haven’t found any proof that this was a real myth.

Last but not least, guns need to be realistic, even if they are virtual. The multiplayer part of the game allows you to use a machine gun named to “Death Machine” via a “care package” drop, but the gun ends up shooting rockets rapidly out of a minigun. That’s not possible because of the recoil and force that is coming off from the rocket launches, and I didn’t see anyone’s arms falling off.

I do know many people ended up liking COD: Black Ops, but it simply doesn’t seem like it is worth my time. I haven’t had this much of a let-down since NBC’s  series premiere of “The Event”. Call of Duty: Black Ops gets a 2 out of 5 stars.
