Friday, Dec. 3 Student Council hosted the annual lip syncing competition, Mock Rock. The competition will take place in the school’s auditorium. This year Student Council is hoping to “Mock Your Socks Off” with the wide variety of performances.

“It’s going to be pretty awesome,” Stuco president Alyssa Bocci said, “There’s a lot more large groups then we normally do and the acts are going to be great.”

Roughly nine acts will take the microphone this year including a group called the “Gleeks.” The group includes a group of nine girls, seven of which are on the dance team.

“I’m so excited, we’re remaking Glee,” Gleek-member Maggie Jasper said, “There’s three sophomore’s, three juniors and three seniors, the whole thing has brought us a lot closer.”

Generally, the top three performances are recognized but the winners of the competition will receive a cash prize although, Jasper says it’s really not about the money.

“If we win we’re probably going to go out to eat,” Jasper said, “But we’re really just doing it for fun, definitely not for the money.”
