On Wednesday, Nov. 10 and Wednesday, Nov. 17th all the homerooms participated in the Penny War hosted by TASC. This event takes place every year and is a big competition between the students. Homerooms take this very seriously and last year’s homeroom is hoping for another win but this year a new homeroom hopes to take the title.
“My homeroom teacher, Mr. Stemmermann, takes it really seriously so he is trying to get us all to bring pennies,” Drew Ortscheid said.
All of the proceeds earned went towards The Big Feast For Homeless People.
“I bring in the silver change just to set other homerooms back because I know mine won’t win anyways,” Nicole Clouse said.
When a class turned in pennies, they are all counted as points for the class. When a class turns in bills and silver change these are all counted as negative points to set other rooms back.
