One Acts brings opportunities for students

After a month of preparation, it all comes to an end,; it’s showtime. This year there are four One Act performances directed by the students themselves.

“These acts are completely student directed, I really just stay out and let them be,” drama teacher Jeff Tandler said.

With the performance on Dec. 10, tickets go on sale at lunches for only $4 in advance and then go up to $5 at the door the night of show. As the date gets closer, performers buckle down and gear up for the show. They make final tweaks and practice their lines, even when they’re asleep.

“I’m really excited to see the younger students have their first chance on stage, that’s kinda the whole reason I do it,” Tandler said.

Unlike the fall and spring plays, One Acts has a much lager cast consisting of all sorts of actors. For some, this is their first time performing in front of an audience so it is a bit nerve wrecking, but with all the help and rehearsal everything is running great and ready to go.

“I can’t wait for my acting career debut on stage, even for just two minutes,” junior and director Cassie Witte said.
