North Street Coffeehouse looks to be a success

Tryouts for the 2011 North Street Coffeehouse were after school on Jan. 26. During auditions for the coffeehouse, 30 acts were performed and 22 acts were chosen to be viewed by the school. After hours of performances, Angie Gunnell posted the cast list outside the library.

“It’s based on the quality of the performance, variety in the acts, and the anticipated behavior on coffeehouse day,” Gunnell said.

The annual North Street Coffeehouse will be on Feb. 17 and 18 during Core-English classes. English teachers have the chance to sign up to take their classes down to the coffeehouse. Once that list is full, no more classes may attend.

“Its nice that the students with a Core-English class get to take time out of their day to see their peers perform. However, I think that those not given the opportunity should be able to support their fellow students,” Nicole Cuneo said.

After careful consideration and auditions, this is the cast that were chosen, in no particular order. The names that are listed together are performing together:
