Safe driving benefits all

In 2009 3,000 teens ages 15-19 were killed in motor vehicle accidents, much more were injured. Sounds risky and pretty scary doesn’t it? Just think one of those could have been you. Well my opinion on that fact is that we as teenagers need to put an end to this. Speed limits are posted for a reason, they are what is safe for that road and the others around you; they are not just a made up number.Another major problem is texting and driving, not only is it illegal it is also one of the most dangerous things you could do. Every second you take your eyes off the road is another chance you have to get in an accident.

Your life and others are more important then responding to a friend when chances are you are most likely driving to that friends house.

I hardly ever speed; the times I have it was only 5 over, and I will not text and drive. I value my life and anyone else’s too much. If I am in my truck with another person I will have them respond to the text or will wait until I get to where I’m going.

Another thing is that if you ever get in my truck with me, my number one rule is that as soon as you get in you must put a seat belt on or we will not move until it is on. If something were to happen and you were not buckled I would feel like it was my fault and I do not want that put onto me.

So I ask you to join me in making the roads a safer place and having more teenagers return home safely every day.
