StuCo discusses Trick-or-Treat Street and charities at meeting

StuCo representative hands out fliers to students at meeting.Wednesday, October 19 FHN’s Student Council held a meeting in homeroom about some upcoming events and ideas for local charities. Since Trick-or-Treat Street is coming up soon, it was a big topic at the meeting.

Trick-or-Treat Street is an annual tradition North holds for smaller kids around the area. The idea is that children dress up and go from room to room like houses in a neighborhood. The hallways and rooms are decorated and movies play on the smart boards. Representatives were informed that Trick-or-Treat Street is not an easy event to set up for and the more help the better.

“We really wanted people to know about it, and to know how they can help us prepare for it.” Vice President of Student Council, Nicole Yuede said.

After school meeting dates, decorations, and advertising assignments were all factors discussed and scheduled for this activity.

“We want other clubs to get involved and we hope this year it will be a big hit.” Ashlynn Laspe, President of StuCo said.

Student Council also voted on a local charity to donate money to. Youth In Need, an organization that provides necessities to kids with unfortunate situations, was the final decision voted by the Reps, Cabinet, and Office.

“We like to donate some money to charity because we enjoy giving back to the community.” Laspe said.

The meeting ended with fun sing-a-long cheers and chants to get Student Council excited and pumped for the busy weeks ahead.

“I like that we were able to get through all the information but also had some fun along the way.” Nicole Yuede said.
