JUNIOR PARENTS:  It’s time to start planning the 2013 All-Knighter graduation celebration!  We are forming committees now and also have a few jobs we need to do for the 2012 class.  Ournext meeting is today  at 7:30 in room 160 (in the art wing).  Please come see what the All-Knighter is all about.  No matter how much time you have to give we can use your help.  We especially need a few parents to help with parking lot duty on Saturday, June 2nd from 10:30pm to midnight.  If you can not attend but want to be kept in the loop for future meetings and events please contact Sharon. [email protected] 4/16 Stepanek

 ATTENTION SENIOR ATHLETES AND TEAM MANAGERS:  The FHN Athletic Booster Club is giving away $3500.00 in scholarships.  Pick up a scholarship application in the Guidance Office.
All you have to do to have a chance to win a $500 or $1000 scholarship is to have participated in one varsity sport your senior year, have a 2.0 GPA and have a Booster Club Membership.
Not a lot of students apply for this scholarship, so your chances of winning are good.  Just submit an essay on “How your participation in High School Athletics has been a positive influence on you.”

 Save the Date: Free Community Appliance and Electronics Recycling Event
The Francis Howell School District will be hosting, in cooperation with Midwest Recycling Center, a free appliance and electronics recycling event on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 9 AM to 2 PM. Community members will be able to drop off old appliances and unwanted electronics to the Burbes Service Center, located at 4606 Central School Road, to be recycled at no charge. Please make note that the State Testing Program, End-Of-Course (E.O.C.) Assessment will occur April 16 through April 30, 2012.  All students enrolled in Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II, Government, and Marketing 2 classes will be taking part in the E.O.C. Assessment Program. The school day will be modified, but all academic classes will be offered sometime throughout the week with a regular schedule on Monday, April 23, 2012. Students who are absent during testing days will be required to make up any portion of the E.O.C. Assessment that they missed on April 23 and May 1, 2012 during the school day. Any students that attend Lewis and Clark Technical School will be excused from attendance at tech school as they will be required to attend assigned classes at Francis Howell North.  Tech school will not count E.O.C. testing days as unexcused absences.  Students who are off campus due to Tech School, Work-Study, Dual Enrollment, etc., need not report to campus during their off campus class hours but MUST stay for the entire length of all their scheduled class hours. Please remember that the E.O.C. Assessment Program is a State of Missouri requirement that all schools and designated students must participate in.  Copies of the class schedule during EOC testing are available in the main office.  All activity eligibility requirements related to school Attendance will be in full-effect during E.O.C. testing. 
~~ Due to E.O.C. testing throughout the school, classes WILL NOT be interrupted in order for students to be called out of class for any reason.  Students will need to pick up deliveries from parents during passing periods.  Any student requiring release from school during any period in which testing is occurring must bring a written note from a parent  to the Attendance Office before the start of the school day so that the student may receive an early release pass.  4/30 Kearns

FHSD to Host Heroin and Prescription Drug Town Hall-In an effort to educate our community about the growing use of heroin and abuse of prescription drugs among youth in our area, the Francis Howell School District is hosting a town hall forum on Tuesday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Francis Howell Central High School, 5199 Highway N, Cottleville, MO 63304. The event is organized by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (NCADA) and local law enforcement agencies. Click here for more information. 5/8 Henry

Summer School Forms for Enrichment and Credit Recovery are located in the guidance office. Credit Recovery forms for first session are due May 21, and second session are due June 11.Enrichment forms for both sessions are due May 21. Scholarships – We have many families that unfortunately can not afford to send their student to the All-Knighter.  We have budgeted money for some All-Knighter scholarships but do not have enough to cover the entire need.  We do not want to turn away any student who wishes to spend graduation night in a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment.  If you would like to make a donation to help these students it would be greatly appreciated.  Scholarship needs/awards are determined by the guidance office and are handled with confidentiality.  Please send donations to the FHN office in an envelope marked All-Knighter.
Several scholarships are available in the guidance office. 
There are deadlines that the scholarships need to be applied for.
