DECA State Fall Conference

From Oct. 14 to 15, FHN’s DECA members attended the 2012 Fall Leadership State Officer Election Conference at the Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake of the Ozarks.

“It showed what DECA is really about and that it’s not as scary as some people think it is,” DECA member Zach Ksiazek said.

The first twenty students to sign up were able to go on the trip. Other qualifications included being an actively involved member in DECA and a trip fee of one-hundred dollars.The conference gave DECA members opportunities to learn about leadership, participate in competitive event workshops, and get to know other DECA members, not only from FHN, but from all over the state as well. It also held the purpose of electing the district and state officers of DECA.

“They learned new leadership skills and got to know everyone better and become better leaders,” DECA Advisor Mike Freedine said.
