On Dec. 12 there was a swim meet against Francis Howell Central. North lost to Central 71 to 102.
“Francis Howell Central is a good team.” Sophomore Clarissa Sandbothe said, “Even though they won I’m proud of our team we are great and did a great job.”
During the meet North got both first and second place in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, along with first in 200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, and diving.
“I believe we did good.” Junior Olivia Miller said, “We aren’t as good as we were last year but we still do our best and swimming the fastest we can!”
Last year the team lost 11 seniors. The team is having a rebuilding year, with only 7 of the 25 swimmers from last year returning and just two of which are senior.
“I think we all worked hard and had a great meet.” Freshman Samm Heupel said, “This year has been pretty fun, and overall I’d say we have a pretty great team”.
This is the fourth meet the swim team has had so far this season. The next will be Dec.14 which is a relay meet, hosted by Fort Zumwalt North, at the Rec-Plex.
“At practice we swim hard and at meets we swim even harder.” Sophomore Maggie Torbeck said, “The old swimmers are swimming great and the new swimmers are learning fast. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us, and how good the team will do at GACs.”
