Students from Barnwell and Hollenbeck Middle School Yearbook staffs took a field trip to North towards the end of the day on Tuesday. The Yearbook advisors of both middle schools wanted the current staffers to experience the high school feel.  They rotated between three stations that consisted of taking a school tour, taking photographs in the studio, and learning about room 026 and the different staffing opportunities offered at North.

“I really enjoyed going to the studio and learning about different cameras and getting to dress up with props and take goofy pictures in them, Hollenbeck seventh grade student Kaitlyn Cox said.

The students got a tour around the publications room. including what each section on publications did,  how the content is produced, examples of work that each staff has created and how the room functions.

“We got to look at the school Newspapers and some of the spreads which was really cool and the yearbook is a lot different. It is a huge horizontal book, not anything like our yearbook, Barnwell seventh grade student Caty Arnold said.

The high school students led them from each station trying to ease their nerves of being in a new place and answered their questions along the way.

” Just seeing their reactions to the high school world was pretty cool and they had a lot of good questions, Editor of Sport Website Andrew Cline said.
