StuCo Starts To Plan Snowcoming

Starting Jan. 22, StuCo will be selling tickets to the Snowcoming dance, which will be held on Feb. 1. Tickets will be available for purchase next to the snack tables, during all lunches. Tickets cost $10.

“I think it’s really good for students to bring students from other schools so that we can get their opinions, as well as North students,” StuCo President Rowan Pugh said. “It boosts ticket sales because we usually do not cap the tickets, so it’s more tickets being sold.”

Students planning on bringing a guest to the dance will need to fill out a permission slip which can be found in the schools main office or the StuCo nook. Guest tickets will be sold every Tuesday and Thursday before and after school.

“Last year, we had somewhere from 400 to 500 people show up to the dance, so I think advertising more this year we could have a lot more people than last year’s turn out,” Cabinet Member Nicole Morse said.

All the money collected goes towards the decorations for the dance. For the past few years, the most popular part of the dance has been the techno bubbles that can be seen floating around the dance floor. They also provide glow in the dark body part which can be seen under the black light.

“My favorite part of Snowcoming is probably how its not as formal as homecoming,”  sophomore Megan Horner said. “Its just more laid back, and I get to just hangout and have a good time with my friends on the dance floor.”
