Last Thursday at the Rec-Plex, the diving portion of Girls’ Swim GAC competition took place. FHN’s only diver junior Dominique Meyer took third.
“I was kind of disappointed in how I did,” Meyer said.
The competition consists of a total of 11 dives, and it went from four to eight, longer than most diving competitions. The dives performed gradually increased in difficulty. Each was scored on a scale from one to ten on how it was executed.
All three girls in the top three dive, including Meyer competitively for STL Diving and will be competing in the State competition this weekend. Last year Meyer got sixth at State.
“I’m nervous for State,” Meyer said. “But, I’m also excited to see how I’ll do.”
