Senior Cody Pingleton, an ice and roller hockey player and golfer for North is booked through spring while he plays two sports in the same season. Pingleton has been playing hockey for 14 years and golf for 5 years. Along with high school sports he also plays hockey for the St. Louis Blast.

“I like playing hockey because I’ve been playing it my whole life and it’s enjoyable,” Pingleton said. “I like playing golf because it’s a challenge but it’s still fun.”IMG_9898ps

Pingleton often has multiple practices on the same nights along with games and tournaments that fill up most of his time. When at practices, Pingleton likes to push himself to do his best and get better for his games. In the past week, Pingleton has scored 3 goals and has had 4 assists, including the game winning goal against Fort Zumwalt South. He was also was 6th overall in the Lake Forest Challenge tournament, scoring a 76, only 4 points over par.

“Playing both sports can be stressful but it’s also fun and adds enjoyment to school,” Pingleton said.

As for college, Pingleton might be throwing in the towel on golf and will dedicate his time to roller and Ice hockey. He plans to attend Missouri State University in the fall. Although he’s excited to go off to college, he will miss the fans and all of the great memories.

“My advice for the younger players on both of my teams is to keep striving to get better and try to achieve all of their goals,” Pingleton said.

The Next varsity roller hockey game is on April 19 against Timberland and the next golf tournament is the Fort Zumwalt South tournament on April 16.
