Coffee Fridays are a weekly happening in the Learning Commons. Every season, there is a different specialty drink. This season’s drink is the Sweetheart Latte.

“It is just a part of the culture of the Learning Commons,” sponsor of Epsilon Beta and Media Specialist Angie Davis said.

The mocha and hot chocolate are one dollar, coffee is 75 cents and the drink of the month is two dollars. The coffee at school is used as a fundraiser for Epsilon Beta, which is a service club for school libraries. The money made is also used for the Learning Commons for things like the yearly Coffeehouse and upgrades like the new booths and new seating in the front of the library.

“I do not know how I would last a Friday at school without my morning cup of coffee from the Learning Commons,” junior Nate Schuler said.

Most months, the Learning Commons has a drink depicting the current season. In the fall, they sold pumpkin spice lattes. In December, the club sold a mocha mint latte. In Jan. and Feb. they sell a Sweetheart Latte. It is a latte topped with whipped cream and heart sprinkles. In the spring, they sell hot chocolate with colored sprinkles and bunny candies.

“They fill it up with drink as much as they can and add a lot of whip cream,” regular customer Damien Norwood said. “It is delicious.”
