On Sept.17, varsity girls volleyball lost against Howell in an away game. The last two sets ended with a score of 14-25 and 9-25.

Only 5.9 percent of high school volleyball players will go on to play volleyball in college. Senior Addison Polsgrove is part of that 5.9 percent. This past May, Polsgrove committed to play Division

1 NAIA Volleyball at Columbia College next fall. Polsgrove has played many sports throughout her life, but decided that volleyball would be her priority.

“I like to be up and moving constantly and I just really connected with my first [volleyball] coach,” Polsgrove said. “She brought me to where I am now.”

Polsgrove has been playing volleyball for nine years, but didn’t have hopes of playing at the next level until her freshman year of high school. She quickly learned what it would take to continue her volleyball career.

“It’s very time consuming,” Polsgrove said. “I don’t get to spend a lot of quality time with my friends, and I don’t get to work very much.”

Although it takes a lot of sacrifice to play at such a high level, Polsgrove is more than happy to continue competing.

“As a senior, I’m not ready to give it up yet,” Polsgrove said. “I’m glad I can continue playing at a higher level, just for a little bit longer.”
