Jad Khdeer is a current senior at FHN. Khdeer moved to America from Qatar and has been speaking Arabic since he was born but just recently had to learn English for school. Jad’s parents are originally from Jordan and Palestine.

Jad Khdeer, a 16-year old senior at FHN, moved to America around six years ago to better his education.

“The reason for my move was education,” Khdeer said. “Qatar had a great education, however, our family felt there were more opportunities in America.”

Moving from the city of Doha to St. Peters was quite a change for the Khdeer family.

“Adjusting to a new school and a new environment with different traditions was not the easiest,” Khdeer said.

Khdeer will never forget the time he spent in Qatar. He reminisces on old memories, but is still excited for the opportunities America holds for him.

“What I do miss the most about Qatar is the culture and my childhood friends,” Khdeer said.

After High school, Khdeer plans to go to college to study computer sciences. After college he plans to get a job in software engineering. Along the way Khdeer is hopefully awaiting traveling and starting new adventures.

“In my future I plan to travel a lot,” Said Khdeer. “I love traveling because I like to explore new places I’ve never been to before.”
