On Wednesday Feb. 21, Sodexo hosted a Food cooking competition among elementary school participants from across the district. The students were tasked with cooking a meal following the theme of ‘Home Cooked’ to be judged by superintendent Kenneth Roumpos, FHSD Board Member Janet Stiglich, and Former Henderson Elementary administrator, Jannette Barker and local chef, Jennifer Dorsey. Dishes were judged based on a number of factors from Nutritional value to taste and many more. Each student had the help of two Sodexo employees from around the district. Hridaya Bhatt, a third grader from Central Elementary, went onto win the competition with her dish of Dhokla Sandwiches, a traditional Indian food. Bhatt will go on to compete in the regional competition.
