On Friday March 15, Francis Howell North Varsity baseball played their first game of the season against Parkway North at the FHN home fields. Starting pitcher Mason Mitchell allowed one hit throughout the entire game and ending with 9 strikeouts. “I could tell the minute we showed up to the field we were gonna compete and the score shows,” Mitchell says. Multiple players such as, Carson Howard, Jake Thompson, and Blake Ermeling doubled in the game. The game was called early at the end of the 5th inning, leaving the knights with their first win 10-0. Mitchell shares the teams goals for this season, “Our goal is to go at least 500 this season and win some games against the top teams in St. Louis. It’s possible if we come together and all work towards these goals.”
