Starting Aug. 20th, the school will enforce the newest bell schedule.
“This year instead of last year, we’re letting school out on Wednesdays at 1:35pm,”
Principal Dr. Darlene Jones said. “The difference from last year is that the PLC meetings are going to be in the afternoon instead of the morning.”
Because the PLC meetings are in the afternoon, the teachers have more time to have a big discussion without having any interruptions. During last year’s late start, the teacher would have until the beginning of class to discuss or have one-on-one time with students.
The biggest thing on Jones’ mind is corralling the straggling students and putting them in a secure place.
“We know that some students have to stay, so they can go to the commons and where they sit, talk quietly and do work,” Jones said. “We still have responsibility and have to supervise the students.”
