JV Knights rally for late inning win

The JV baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead and never looked back.

The Knights rolled to a 5-3 lead after Andrew Wooten hit a home run.

Washington then came storming back in the top of the sixth inning with three unearned runs to take lead 5-6. The Knights started the bottom of the sixth with a leadoff single by Adam Rapert. The Knights eventually scored four runs to take a 9-6 lead. Outstanding relief pitching shut Washington down to protect the three run lead.

“We didn’t give up and we came back,” Rapert said.

Rapert went 1 for 2, HBP, and a run scored.

“We never quit, and never gave up,” Coach Riffe said. “The team did so well and kept each other in the game and never lost focus.”

Up next for the JV Knights is a game at CBC Wednesday at 4:15. For more information and directions click here.
