Varsity baseball wins 4-3

An error in the sixth inning was what the Knights needed to put them ahead to stay 4-3 against CBC tonight.

The Knights took the early lead in the bottom of the first scoring one run.

Luke Collis scored the run but left the game after a collision at the plate. Washington rallied back and scored two runs to take the lead.

Due to clutch pitching by junior Tyler Christeson, the Knights came back to tie the game. Christeson pitched 2 and 2/3 innings giving up one earned run and striking out four.

“The game was intense, I was on the edge of my seat,” Christeson said.

Wes Simone reached base safely and scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the sixth inning.

“We won not because one or two people but by a team effort,” Coach Donahue said. “It was an ugly win, but an ugly win is better than a beautiful win.”

The Knights improve to 8-2 this season and will be taking on CBC Wednesday at 4: 15 here at North.
