For the last few years Paramout pictures has been working on a sequel to Iron Man, which was the summer blockbuster movie in 2008. In the last movie, the film ended with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) announcing to the world that he was the man behind the iron suit. This time, the movie takes place six months after the revealing of Iron Man it has affected world affairs and has inspired others to try and rival his power by creating Iron Man varients to be used for good, and evil.
From beginning to end, the movie is filled with action packed sequences, snappy “one-liners”, and even some Marvel easter eggs to go along with it. One of the most incredible things about the movie is the visual effects. From futuristic weaponry to transparent computer screens with life-size holograms that swirl around the screen truly show how our modern movie-making technology can really have an impact on how a movie can go from “good” to “awesome”.
I was suprised to see that this was one of the first movie this year that lived up to it’s exspectations from what audiences have seen in the trailers and commercials. It seemed that it was a little more fast-paced than the first movie, which was great because the amount of content they fit into the movie was incredible. When leaving the movie theater you feet like you have been on a grand adventure from incredible science fiction wonders to the pivital fight between the unltimate good and evil.
Iron Man 2 doesn’t look like it will be “just another summer movie” this time around, but altogether the “best movie of the year” due to the unique storyline intergrated with the “edge-of-your-seat” action throughout the entire movie. This is a “two-thumbs-up”, “must-see” movie of the year as it blows into theaters on May 7.
