Misery by Stephen King is, in my humble opinion, one of his best books. It is right up there with The Stand and The Shining. Misery is one of Stephen King’s shorter reads but that by no means reflects it’s quality. I was hooked from page one and completely refused to put it down until I was finished. Now I don’t want to spoil it for anyone because this is definitely a must read, so I’ll just say the main character is a writer who gets kidnapped by a crazy fan. You can imagine what this famous horror writer has in store for you. Amazon has this book available to be shipped or to put it on your Kindle, so have a look. The Internet Movie Database has the trailer from the 1990 film of Misery and all kinds of information on the movie in case you’re interested.
