Cross country will be meeting this Saturday from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Forest Park. There will be six races along with an open race. Between 30 and 40 schools, such as the Zumwalt schools and St. Charles schools and many more, gather to compete.
“It is a fast course and there’s a lot of competition,” Junior Mack Weaver said. “I’m looking forward to it.”
Freshmen run the 3K course and varsity and junior varsity members run the 5K course. A total of around 200 people from all the schools make up the varsity division. Classes 3 and 4 will be participating.
“I really hope I PR this race,” Junior Danielle Meyer said. “I’m really looking forward to it.”
This race at Forest Park only happens once a year and most of the members are excited to go compete.
“It’s like every one’s favorite race,” Weaver said. “We run and train pretty much every day and it’s cool to go out and run at a cool place and we all hope to PR and maybe win.”
