It’s just another day in space for the crew aboard the Destiny. Stargate Universe, the third installment in the Stargate series, season premiere started off right where last season ended with the Lucian Alliance taking over the ancient starship named Destiny. As the crew was first transported through the Stargate in the first episode to the other side of the universe they ended up arriving on an unmanned spaceship that was exploring the galaxy. Through the series the ship has been found to be built by a race of humans called “The Ancients”. Ever since arriving on the Destiny, the crew has been in dangerous situations spanning from loosing oxygen and life support across the ship to space fighting aliens from various galaxies.
As news of humans finding an Ancient constructed ship, factions have been produced across the galaxies trying to find a way to take the Destiny for themselves, one of these, the most dangerous human faction named the Lucian Alliance.
Last season the Lucian Alliance gained control of the Destiny and it’s crew with various shootouts and prisoner trades to finally seize direct control, or so they thought. Last night’s season premiere, the Destiny had been malfunctioning due to a Binary-Star that had exploded, sending radiation bursts through out the solar system, damaging the Destiny’s shields and systems. As the Lucian Alliance was not aware of this, a small uprising from the remnants of the crew fought back against the Alliance, defeating them in a bloody shootout.
It’s on the next solar system for the Destiny and it’s crew, and it’s on the next episode for me because the action packed, science fiction based core of the show is gripping and intense like no other show I have ever watched that makes me want to come back for more! I would rate Stargate Universe a 5 out of 5 stars.
