This year’s fall play, “The Calamity-ville Terror,” will be hosting its final two performances tonight and tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in FHN’s auditorium.
The story is a murder mystery involving an all girls school moving into an old manor. The manor is owned by a brother and sister whose parents drowned in a well, but this is only a small peek at the entire story.
“There’s a sick twist to it,” Zack Wood, who plays Mr. Adams, said.
Unlike last year, this play is a thriller, and since it’s Halloween it makes it that much spookier.
“[People should expect this] to be a scarier play,” crew member Rachael Garrelts said, “not one for your little brother and sister.”
There are more than 50 people involved in this play and they have all been working really hard in the past few weeks in order to be ready for the final performances.
“The set looks much better than it did last year,” crew manager Kristen Boiles said.
Both the cast and crew know that putting a play together requires a lot of devotion, that’s why they have been dedicating many hours and a lot of effort to this.
“There’s nothing easy about putting a play together,” drama teacher Jeff Tandler said.
The cast and crew are hopping this play will be more appealing to the teenage eye and more interesting than last year’s. Their main goal is to keep the audience intrigued and entertained.
“Every play is different,” Tandler said, “ I wouldn’t say one is necessarily better or worse, they are simply different.”
The pressure is on as the final show is just around the corner. Tickets will be sold during all lunches for $6 and at the door for $8.
