The gym doors opened on Nov. 8 and boys basketball tryouts started. With many boys gathering together many wondered who would make the cut. This years tryouts were held in the big gym starting at 2:45 after school and will continue until Thursday. Approximately 28 boys tried out for their spot on the team. Only JV and varsity boys tried out last night with freshmen boys trying out tonight at 6.
“There is a new assistant coach for JV and varsity and we’re playing a different game style,” sophomore Alex Seamen said. “Instead of playing a slow pace game we’re gonna play a faster pace game so that’ll make things different.”
With the JV season starting on Nov. 29 and Varsity starting on Dec. 3, the season took off. After a record of 10-16 for varsity and 6-11 for JV, the teams are working harder to up their game and improve their scores from last year.
“I really enjoy the game its self, I enjoy the players, I also really enjoy the competition as a whole,” Varsity coach Bill Moyer said.
