The construction for the new science labs is moving along at a progressive rate. According to Steve Kelly, the addition will be done around February or March depending on the weekly progress of construction.
“At one point I believe they were a week ahead,” Kelly said. “Everything is moving along real smoothly.”
The new addition will include three Chemistry class rooms and one Biology room. Such an expansion will be a great asset to those teachers who will be moving in to those rooms.
“The lab space will be extremely beneficial,” Chemistry teacher Karen Hill said. “right now we’re pretty limited on space. The new labs will help students really connect with the reality of Chemistry.”
Since the labs won’t be completed until later in the year, only the students who are taking upper level Biology and Chemisty classes will be able to utilize the new labs.
“I’m excited for the new labs because we will be ably to do more things in a better place,” junior Kourtney Schmiedeke said. “It’ll be cool to be the first students to use the new those rooms.”
