Some people, including scientists, have speculated for the past century how everything was created, why events have happened, and what the course of humanity will be in the future. For game developing studio known as Ubisoft looked into these questions and formed a story of their own from beginning to end, this story is known as the award winning game called “Assassin’s Creed”.
It started out with your present day character, Desmond Miles, being taken to a secret laboratory named Abstergo to be tested for certain key links in his DNA. You find out that in all DNA their are strands that contain “genetic memory” which is also been called “instinct” which can be activated by a machine called the Animus, in which you can genetically relive memories from your ancestors.
In the latest edition of the game, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, you are on the run from Abstergo, where you find a hidden hideout in Italy for the time being. You use the Animus to go back and visit your Italian ancestor, Ezio Auditore, to find out what happened to the assassin order in the 1500’s.
The game centers around the Italian renaissance giving you a unique setting to play in, because unlike most platform and third person games, Assassin’s Creed allows you to have a more human free-run gameplay. The most acclaimed part of the game is the way you can fight in the game, for example, you can use your hidden blade you use for your assassinations and surprise enemies in hand-to-hand combat, you can use your sword or short sword, or if you even want to shoot them, you can with your hidden gun under your wrist. Brotherhood has integrated fighting meaning that you can chain multiple attacks together and execute all of your enemies at one time without even getting a scratch.
The title says it all, your main mission in the game is to eliminate the Romans who threaten Italy and everyone in it, but you can’t do it alone. While you are playing as Ezio, you can venture out into the cities and recruit others to join the assassin’s guild to create a brotherhood in which you can call upon to aid you at anytime. The more people you recruit, the more people you have by your side.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood really is an indescribable game in itself from climbing buildings, to jumping off rooftops and assassinating the bad guys really makes you feel like you are in the game with it’s unique textures and environment. Brotherhood gets a superb 5 out of 5 stars and if you have ever played any of the previous Assassin’s Creed games, this is one you surely don’t want to miss.
