Martin Luther King Day will be a day off for all of the students and staff at FHN, but not for FHN’s Jazz band. On Monday when most of FHN’s students would still be sleeping in, the Jazz Band will be working hard to perfect their performances for the upcoming competitions.
“I am looking forward to getting things done,” senior Stephanie Blanchard said, “The extra day of practice plus the critiques are going to help us for our upcoming competition.”
At the all day rehearsal, FHN’s Jazz band is having a few professionals come in. The professionals are coming in to critique the Jazz band and give them a few pointers for future competitions.
“This is my third year in Jazz band and we have done this clinic every year,” junior Megan Weber said, “ I am not opposed to it because I know it really helps everyone improve overall, and helps us become stronger and perform better as a band.”
“I am looking forward to the competitions because they are a ton of fun to attend,” Weber said.
