The Lady Knights Varsity Basketball team lost to Troy Buchanan High School by 6 points on Jan. 26. So far the Lady Knights have had trouble staying consistent with their wins and losses this season. The team has won 6 out of 16 total games, giving them the disappointing winning percentage of only 37%. Although this season hasn’t been their best, head coach Matt Watson feels good regarding his team’s performance.
“We’re doing well, but the record doesn’t show the effort they put in,” Watson said.
Some of the team doesn’t feel they are performing at their best due to outside circumstances. Guard, Camisha Oliver, says her amount of schoolwork has made her feel unprepared.
“I’ve just got too much on my plate to prepare for the game,” Oliver said.
Despite their various setbacks the Lady Knights keep their heads held high, and hopefully they will bring out a win during their away game against Fort Zumwalt West.
“We want to win. Out run them, out rebound them, out score them,” Watson said. “We are going to be prepared for what they are going to give us.”
