On Jan. 29 Drumline had their first competition at Eureka high school. They ended up with first place in their division. Collinsville and Howell Central were in the same division as them. Drumline works really hard and they put a lot into their shows.
“I felt we had a good show outline, and we had been working really hard so we just hoped that the judges would see that,” said junior Taryn Linke.
There are a couple of things they need to improve on before their next competition. They need to improve on mental mistakes, not getting so nervous, and just staying relaxed. Their next competition is Feb. 12 at Hazelwood Central.
“One thing we could of done better is keeping our energy under control because we were all very excited since it was our first competition and we got a little out of control,” said junior Jordan Schupp.
