When you think life can be hard for some people, when it seems like everything is crashing down around them all at one time and you think “well I’m only human” for this group of three roommates, being human is not even an option.
Syfy’s new series “Being Human” follows three roommates who are a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost who all ended up living in the same house to try and fit in with the challenges of living normal lives. For Aiden (Sam Witwer) trying to fit in is a bit harder than anyone else, because vampires don’t need to eat, sleep, or do anything besides feeding on blood, he finds himself getting a job at a hospital as a nurse which makes getting blood easier since he has vowed not to feed on any human due to his dark past. Along with him his best friend Josh (Sam Huntington) also works at the hospital beside him not as just a job, but to also keep Aiden in check from feeding.
As the first episode unfolds you see that Aiden fails himself and his promise when he accidently looses control of his vampiric desires and kills his girlfriend. In a desperate attempt save her and get away from the scene, he calls in the vampire sect to help clean up his mistake. Aiden and Josh end up purchasing an abandoned apartment to have a safe-house for them to make home. After moving in they find that it isn’t entirely abandoned due to Sally (Meaghan Rath), a ghost who has haunted the house ever since she died, decides to befriend the two new roommates.
The story unfolds with twists and turns every episode that keep you on the edge of your seat, and eyes glued to your T.V. but to say the least, Being Human seems to be a good refurbished series of the original U.K. series that the show is based off of also called Being Human. The show has yet to prove how good a series it will be, maybe it is because the excessive amount of blood used in the show, the violence, the way the show takes a look at the darker side of how these three friends have to deal with trying to live a normal life, when it will always be impossible. Being Human premieres every Monday on Syfy, or can be watched online at Syfy Rewind. This series is something you can get into easily and is definitely worth watching every minute of it.
