The Francis Howell North Winter Guard was awarded the Scholastic A Gold Medal this past Saturday at the Mid Continent Color Guard Association Championships held at Willard High School in Willard, Missouri. Their amazing performance earned the winter guard their second Scholastic A championship title in the last 3 years. The guard scored an 86.2 edging out their competition.
“As Duane Willaims said, for a team that’s six guard members, and six band members, we didn’t do half bad,” said band turned guard member, Kayleen Lindstrom.
The other scholastic A scores include:
2nd place: Odessa High School 84. 7
3rd place: Washington High school 82.0
4th place: Blue Valley West High School 77.7
5th place: Webb City High School 77.1
6th place: Francis Howell High School 75.5
The Winter Guard will be performing their Gold Medal winning show entitled “This Woman’s Work” this coming Saturday, April 2nd during the Francis Howell North Band Ice Breaker. If you haven’t seen the show, or haven’t seen it in a while, this is the last opportunity before the guard travels to Dayton, OH on April 6-9 to compete at the 2011 WGI World Championships.
