On April 12, the Varsity girls Soccer team faced their rivals, the Francis Howell Central Spartans. The Lady Knights entered the game on the tail end of a six game winning streak and a 6-2 record. This may have attributed mostly to a grid-locked first half, in which both teams had shots on goal, but neither scored.
The second half was filled with emotion. Head Coach Mark Olwig received a yellow card, and senior Sarah Peth scored her fourth goal of the season, giving the Lady Knights a one point lead. Not soon-there-after, senior Kelsey Fouch scored another goal for the Lady Knights. The game ended with a final score of 2-0. The Lady Knights are now 7-2 for the season.
“I think we played pretty good,” junior Jade Shinn said. “We could have played better with passing, but I think we played pretty tough and we got a good win out of it.” —Summary by Kevin Beerman
