You know what grinds my gears? Homophobes.
Primary arguments of this subject matter comes from theological justification. Honestly I don’t want to get into a ridiculous biblical rant on how illogical changing the bible around to conform to what you hate is, so I’ll get straight to the point. Hating gays doesn’t make sense.
All the time, anytime, and every time someone criticizes a gay couple, their circular rhetoric always goes around to the sexual aspect of their relationship. So this draws me to believe the problem isn’t that two men or women are sharing assets, it’s the thought of two men or two women having sex.
Think about the advantages marriage offers, significantly lower taxes, financial protection in the case of a divorce, joint-owned property, etc. So, why can’t men be with men? And women be with women? In no way does this affect the remainder of heterosexuals.
Another thing about sex, why should what other couples in their private time concern you? You’re not the one making love to another person of the same gender. Also don’t say what they’re doing is “sodomy” and it’s unnatural and “unethical.” Sodomy is defined as any unnatural sexual activity, not just homosexual intercourse. This includes, oral, anal, bestiality, making love to rocks, etc. So yeah, under their logic, anyone who has given or received oral sex is gay.
Homosexuality occurs in genetics, it’s not a choice. Like any kind of mental handicap. So does that mean people with downs syndrome should also go to hell? You tell me.
‘Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.” -Leviticus 18:22
– I guess this means camping is blasphemy as well
And that’s what grinds my gears.
