Most girls fantasize about their future engagement to that one person they might spend the rest of their life with, daydreaming how the love of their life will pop the question.
For Senior Alyssa Roberson, those daydreams are over.
This past Spring Break, while visiting her boyfriend Matthis Schwartz in Germany, he surprisingly proposed, which Roberson happily said yes to.
“While I visited my boyfriend in Germany, on the last day before I had to leave which also was my birthday, he proposed to me on a castle overlooking a field of purple and yellow flowers,” Alyssa said.
Alyssa’s and Matthis’ families knew about the proposal beforehand. In fact, both families fully supported the young couple’s decision.
“My husband, Mike Roberson, gave his blessing to Matthis for our daughter’s hand,” mother Carrie Roberson said. “Even though they both are still very young, people’s age is no indication whether two people should get married.”
As for the couple’s wedding date, it’s said for now that it will take place next year around the month of September. There will be two receptions; one in Germany and one in the United States.
“Before we get married, Matthis has to finish school first, and then everything can take place after that,” Alyssa said. “I’m very excited for the future and everything it has to offer; I can’t wait.”
