With less than hours to go before the KOE picnic, senior KOE president Drew Moersch, KOE vice president Charlotte Johnson, and officer Emily Wilkins have been checking the weather “every hour” despite the unchanging forecast for clear skies.
“”[There’s a] zero percent chance of rain,” Holmes said. “[We’re] not at all concerned.”
Holmes and the forecast are still not going to totally assure the three seniors after what happened last year. After rescheduling the Picnic from a Friday due to concerns of rain, the rescheduled picnic was rained on anyway. However with clear skies, things seem to be looking up for KOE for one of their biggest events of the year.
“[Last year] was frustrating,” Moersch said. “But it was still lots of fun. The rain wasn’t horrible.”
This year KOE has cut down on some things like the dunking booth and live music in order to make room for more and better inflatables. One of the highlights of the picnic, Holmes says, will be the ‘Demolition Dome’ inflatable.
“I just love seeing the kids get out there having so much fun,” Holmes said. “It’s a great way to end the year.”
